Open Doors

Join us for Open Doors

Wednesday 1st March 2017

1.30pm in the School Hall

2pm in Classrooms

What is the purpose of Open Doors?

“How was school today?” you ask

“Okay,” replies the child

“What did you do?” you enquire

“I can’t remember, not much,” replies the child

Have you been there? We all have! So, in addition to the use of our website, Twitter and Bloomz, Open Doors is an opportunity to come and find out more about what your child has been learning at school – face to face. A chance to look around the classroom, share time with your child looking in their books and at other pieces of work, and celebrate their many achievements.

Can I talk with the class teacher about my child’s progress?

Chats about progress with the class teacher are best saved for the parent consultation meetings the following week. After Open Doors, you’ll be much better placed to have this discussion having seen first hand some of the amazing work your children have been doing.

What time can I arrive at school?

We will be opening the hall doors from 1:30pm. This will be an opportunity to join us for a tea and coffee (or cold drinks) prior to heading to your child’s team base from 2pm onwards.

Can I take my child home?

Yes. Once you’ve taken quality time with your child/children, please feel free to take your child home. Your child will be responsible for tidying away their books etc, Before leaving, please alert the teacher so they are aware who has left the school.

What if I can’t attend?

We appreciate that not all parents are able to attend events in the school day. This is unavoidable for some parents. Rest assured your children will be busy all afternoon which a range of exciting activities and tasks, along with all the other children in their team.

Anything else to consider?

  • If your child usually attends after school club, and you intend to take them home after open doors, please ensure you have cancelled your place

We look forward to seeing you

Best wishes

Mr Jolly
